At the Beijing Auto Show, which starts on April 25, the Hongqi brand will present a new electric crossover. The model, previously known under the code designation E202, will be commercially called EHS7. This is evidenced by a billboard from the exhibition ready for opening, a photograph of which was published by Autohome.
The EHS7 will be the second model of the new division of Hongqi New Energy – after the EH7 co-platform sedan, declassified a month ago. As far as the spy shots can tell, it will be visually quite close to the E202 concept shown at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show – but with a number of features.
In particular, the front lighting will be slightly redesigned, and the front logo will be raised higher to make room for the license plate. The interior, like the EH7, will feature instrument and multimedia displays combined in one angular body, as well as a two-spoke steering wheel truncated at the bottom.
According to data from the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, the dimensions of the Hongqi EH7 are 4925x1950x1680 mm, the distance between the axles is exactly three meters. Depending on the version, the equipment may include “smart” air suspension, a head-up display and lidar, which will work as part of a semi-autonomous driving system.
The crossover will also borrow electric motors from the sedan. This means that rear-wheel drive versions will receive a single unit with 344 hp, and all-wheel drive versions will have another 275 hp engine installed in front, that is, the total output will be 619 hp. There is no information about batteries and range yet, but for the same EH7, battery packs from CATL are offered for 75, 85 and 111 kilowatt-hours. The 800-volt architecture provides support for fast charging, which allows you to increase your range by 200 kilometers in 5 minutes.
The manufacturer announced the Hongqi New Energy family with its own emblem in the form of stylized wings at the beginning of last year. Over time, it should grow to 15 models.
