Representatives of Cadillac will show the new version of the CTS sedan already in this spring. Although, a novelty will not be sent to the Geneva Motorshow: the Americans considered the internal car market more important than the European one, and therefore the car’s debut will take place in New York. According to the company’s plans, the new Cadillac CTS will become an assistant to the brand in the “struggle” with competition with the old light.
In addition to the planned presentation time, nothing is officially reported about the new product. According to rumors, a platform from the ATS model was used to develop it, which GM designers had to slightly increase. According to the comments of the brand representatives, the BMW 5 sedan is already assigned the main competitor for CTS, which is in high demand in America.
Recall that the current generation of CTS was shown 6 years ago, so the restyling of the model is very helpful. Moreover, GM was forced to accelerate with the release of a new sedan in order to get the opportunity to visually divide the CTS model with a more compact ATS demonstrated relatively recently. With the advent of ATS, as well as the latest flagship XTS, the sale of a rather “elderly” CTS has decreased by almost 15%.
At the same time, Cadillac leaders assured that in the very near future the brand should take a leading position for sale in the United States in the premium car niche. For 3 years, Cadillac will develop and present about ten completely new or radically changed machines. This also includes the update of the Escalade SUV and the ATS compartment. Moreover, the lineup of the company can be replenished with a compact hatchback and a small crossover, which will become an opponent for the BMW 1 series.
