Dismantling of absolutely any starter is the same.
It begins with the removal of the back cover. There is a brush node. We find a bolt holding the knot, unscrew it and carefully so as not to break the brushes, remove it. The height of the brushes should be at least 11 mm. If the height of the brushes does not meet the norm, we change them. Please note that on most starters, the wires from the brushes are welded to the holding plate. In such cases, completely brush node changes.
Next, a retracting relay is removed. It is attached with two/three (depending on the brand) bolts to the front cover.
Then the front cover itself is removed. To do this, we turn off the fasteners, from the side of the back cover, and take them out.
Now the front cover is free and we can calmly remove it.
This is a scheme for starters with a support front lid (as for a classic Lada). If the starter has an open fiery lid (as on VAZ 2109), then before the front cover is removed, the bendix should be removed. To do this, we leave the stop ring (towards the anchor) and freeing the bendix from the fork we remove the bendix.
And for starters with a gearbox (as on VAZ 2110), the anchor is simply removed from the case. And then everything is the same.
Now we change the faulty detail and we are the starter in the reverse order. Just remove all the garbage inside the starter.
