The Romanian brand, which is widely known at the expense of its budget cars, can release two of the latest economy models at once. One of them is designed to give an answer to the compact UP! from VW, the second will become – a large sedan.
Dacia, as you know, is part of the Renault-Nissan Auto Concert and until recently, it pursued a fairly “tough” policy in relation to updating its model line. The latest presentation was the Geneva show of the new version of the Logan MCV station wagon, which, under the specification, LADA Largus can also be reached by our car market. Although, according to the statements of representatives of the company, the brand plans to take a short pause regarding updates and modernizations.
Carlos Tavawares (management of Renault) spoke quite unequivocally in an interview: “We have new products, and we have already made all the necessary investments … That is why, now it’s just the time to quit all power to strengthen and development of business”. Thus, it is not difficult to notice that in Renault it is planned to spend some time on expanding its presence in the segment of budget cars – in connection with this, the release of new products is postponed for a certain time.
But be that as it may, after about 1.5 years, Dacia plans to return to an active development policy. On this occasion, Vice President Renault Tom Lane assured that the Dacia brand in essence simply could not pass by some classes. Thus, one cannot exclude the likelihood of the Romanian brand Hetchbek, which can be an affordable option for the most compact Volkswagen. As for the second new item – a large sedan, here the main competitor is one – Skoda Octavia. That is, Renault plans to develop a model that would become a step above the Logan model.
The appearance of both new products should be expected no earlier than 1.5 years.
